On Saturday 31 October, we showcased the creative strength of British theatre to a delegate of Chinese travel trade, working with VisitBritain we hosted a delegation of 30 at a performance of ‘La boheme’ at English National Opera in Central London. This fam trip came close after the State Visit to Britain by The President of The People's Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping.
Today we provided a World Travel Market survival kit to attendees of ETOA’s GEM workshop. The event held at the London Hilton Metropole brought together International Travel Buyers and European Suppliers for one day of pre-scheduled appointments. 600 delegates attended, with well over 7,000 meetings scheduled in one day.

We are meeting with travel agents and tour operators with a view to helping them to increase their sales of tickets to live entertainment in two of the world’s most vibrant cities London and New York.
Readers of Group Leisure magazine voted for the best companies, attractions, destinations and individuals in group travel and leisure at the 19th annual Group Leisure Awards, which took place on Wednesday 21 October at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole in front of 350 guests.
Trophies were handed out for accolades such as Best Airline, Best Cruise Line and Best UK Attraction, which were won by Ryanair, Norwegian Cruise Line and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard respectively.
In a year when London has reported a large increase in visitor numbers the capital took home its fair share of awards yet again. The title of Best Guided Tour went to The London Bridge Experience & Tombs, the trophy for Best Travel & Leisure Website was awarded to ZSL London Zoo, Best Theatre Production was handed to Jersey Boys and the city itself was awarded Best UK Destination.

Visitors to this year’s Group Leisure & Travel Show were able to chat to television stars, glean insider tips from experts on group travel, and some were lucky enough to walk away with their share of thousands of pounds worth of prizes.
The GLTS 2015 took place at the NEC Birmingham on Thursday 22 October – an event that draws all types of people seeking advice and inspiration for group trips and holidays near and far.
Once the free early-bird bacon butties were eaten, visitors had free reign of more than 100 exhibitors, with top attractions, tourist boards, accommodation providers, ticketing agencies, coach companies and tour operators all on hand to meet group travel organisers from across the UK.
Visitors could also punctuate their day by watching one or all of the five scheduled sessions in the Seminar Theatre.

Tonight Natalie and I (Jonathan) have been invited to the Press & Marketing private view of Goya: The Portraits at The National Gallery, London. Over the past few months we have been working with the Marketing Department at the Gallery to attract Spanish, Latin American and French tourists to this milestone exhibition. Overseas tourists will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the remarkable skill of one of Spain’s most celebrated artists.
Today VisitBritain launched their annual review (at London's Methodist Central Hall) announcing that international visitors have spent an extra £2.5 billion in Britain during the last four years as a result of their work. This beats the target set for it by the Government in 2011 by more than half a billion pounds, and means that every £1 invested in VisitBritain’s activities has resulted in an overseas visitor spending £21 in Britain. And to this can be added the £630 million delivered by VisitBritain, thanks to thir continuing role as a partner in the cross-UK Government GREAT campaign.
